Advanced production technique guiding the development of TiO2 business in China
----the first forum on development of Chinese Chloride Process (cp) TiO2 production held in Jinzhou, Liaoning in 2010

The leaders of the China Coating Association attended the meeting.
The attendants represent nearly 60 companies including many famous TiO2 business enterprises such as Shandong Dongjia Group, Sichuan Lomon Titanium Industry Co., Ltd, Henan Billions Chemicals Co., Ltd.，Shandong DAWN Group Co., Ltd, Ningbo Xinfu Titanium Dioxide Co., Ltd., and many up stream and down stream cooperative companies such as Shide Group in Dalian, Nipponpaint in Langfang. In a harmony atmosphere, the representatives discussed the developing prospects of Chinese chloride process TiO2 production technique and the mutual cooperation possibilities.
For more than two decades’ persistent and dauntless struggle, Jinzhou Titanium Industry Co., Ltd, has overcome multiple technique difficulties, making the whole process operate smoothly. The company continuously optimized the process and the key equipment, obtaining high level achievement which was never reached before. With excellent application properties, the CR serial TiO2 products developed by the company are continuously replacing some imported products in Chinese market. Meanwhile the company has obtained more than 20 patents and has its own knowhow on chloride process technique. In 2009 the company completed the construction of a new15,000 t/a cp TiO2 line, the equipments of which were designed and manufactured by domestic companies. The successful commission of new line made the company reach 30,000 t/a capacity. All of these made the representatives feel excited. The representatives visited the whole operating production plant and the construction site of another 30,000 t/a cp TiO2 line which was newly designed and was planned to be completed soon. The smooth operating of existing two lines of each 15000 t/a cp TiO2 production and the situation in operating sites guided by 6S management left a very good impression on the representatives. They felt that the Chinese cp TiO2 technique was ripe and can push the whole Chinese TiO2 business forward. Jinzhou’s experience made good possibilities for the country.
On the forum, many representatives made speeches on issues of “Progress and trend of Chinese cp TiO2 technique”, “Global situation and trend of cp technique”, “Cp technique importing and engineer design converting”, “TiO2 application in plastic profiles”, “Manufacturing and localization of equipment used in cp TiO2 plant”, “Supplies of titanium slag used in chlorination”. The speakers included Mr.Liu Changhe, Senior Engineer, Expert and Consultant of TiO2 branch of China Coating Association, Dr. Liu Yuanxuan, CEO of Performance Group USA inc, Mr. Xu Xingrong, Vice-chief Engineer of Donghua Engineering and Technique Co., Ltd, and Mr.Yang Feihu, Manager of Research institute of Dalian Shide Group. All the representatives actively participated in the discussion and the communication on production technique, product application, technical support, raw material supply and so on.
Mr. Ding Zhi, the Vice-chief Secretary of China Coating Association said on the forum that cp TiO2 production in China had only run for 20 years and had obtained very encouraging progress. The developing space and the market for the cp TiO2 technique was very large to meet the increasing needs for high quality products. As the pioneer of the cp TiO2 production in China, Jinzhou Titanium Industry Co., Ltd had unmatchable advantage both in technique and in experience.
